The 2010 Golden Hammer Awards was the most highly attended in the eleven-year history of the organization.  Twenty-eight renovation, infill and community design projects from neighborhoods across Richmond were represented in the awards presentation.  Project teams that included architects, local developers, contractors, and home owners were in attendance, as well as leaders of civic associations, Richmond City Council members and non-profit leaders. Jon Hatfield, Director of the Virginia War Memorial gave an enthusiastic welcome to the group and encouraged guests to explore the new exhibits, which were open on the occasion.  The Galanti Education Center, designed by local firm Glavé & Holmes Architecture, was an ideal setting to celebrate projects that honor Richmond's past and bring vitality to the city today.

This year, the Alliance recognized Best Residential Renovation, Best Commercial Renovation and Best Infill Project along with a new category - Best Neighborhood Design Project, which celebrates excellence in neighborhood design and community revitalization.
