APRIL 26 ~ A.C.O.R.N. Partners with Rebuilding Together

Saturday, 8am to 5:30pm

617 N. 26th Street in Church Hill

A.C.O.R.N. will serve as the "Team Captain" for a homeowner at 2000 E. Broadrock Boulevard in the Swansboro neighborhood.  The homeowner is recently disabled requires modifications in the bathroom and kitchen to make the home handicapped accessible.  A generous grant from Lowes Home Improvement has made these modifications possible.  A.C.O.R.N. board members, organization members and other interested folks will be volunteering to facilitate the required repairs.  Since this is a fairly involved project, work on this house has already started.  A.C.O.R.N. would like to recognize and thank the following companies and individuals that have already donated many hours of time to facilitate this project:

MAY 2 ~ Tax Credit Open House

The Department of Historic Resources, located at 2801 Kensington Avenue (directions) will host a Historic Tax Credit Open House. The DHR tax credit staff work one-on-one with applicants and property owners, answer questions and provide guidance for completing tax credit applications on the first Friday of each month. If you have a question about the historic character-defining features of your building, architectural treatments, or application requirements, then bring plans, photos, and any other information that would be helpful in understanding your project. Assistance is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Alliance to Conserve Old Richmond Neighborhoods is sponsoring a Free Renovation Lending Workshop that will give you all of the financial tools you need for the renovation of a Old house in a Richmond Neighborhood.
